4 And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do.

5 But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him.
(Luke 12:4-5)    King James Version

18I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.
Revelation 1:18 (King James Version)

You need to turn to Jesus Christ alone in faith alone for your personal salvation. This means that you are in the same instance turning from anything and everything else this world declares can save you such as good works, religion, other persons, education or any philosophies.

It is only by a genuine and conscious act of your will of placing your total confidence in Jesus Christ and His sacrifice on the cross that you can be saved. Once you make this decision of faith in Christ you are "instantly" saved, given eternal life that can never be taken away..

For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.
(John 3:16)

Yet to all who received Him [Christ], to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God.
(John 1:12)

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God.
(Ephesians 2:8)

Upon your salvation

Your sins are forgiven (Colossians 1:14), you become a child of God (John 1:12), you receive eternal life (John 5:24) and you are sealed with God’s Holy Spirit for all eternity (2 Corinthians 1:22; Ephesians 1:13, 14).

After salvation

Study the Bible (Acts 17:11), pray daily to God (John 15:7), trust in God for power to live the spiritual life (Galatians 5:16-18; Colossians 2:6), tell others about Christ, associate with other Christians and join a Bible-believing church.

When we live by faith:

1. The will of God will be our guide.
2. The promises of God will be our assurance.
3. The presence of God will be our comfort.
4. The Word of God will be our victory.
5. The power of God will be our strength.
6. The approval of God will be our motivation and reward.

8 For I have given to them the words which You have given Me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I came forth from You; and they have believed that You sent Me.
9 “I pray for them. I do not pray for the world but for those whom You have given Me, for they are Yours.
